Christmas is for Children
A nonprofit organization dedicated to providing children love, care and joy that compromise the spirit of Christmas.  Various organizations throughout the area help identify families who otherwise would not have a holiday celebration and help children complete wish lists with 3 components:  something each child wants, something he/she needs and something educational.  Gifts are delivered to designated familites just prior to the holidays.  The program has expanded to include food baskets for entire familites.  Food drives are conducted in November and December.

Cook's Children's Health Foundation
The Cook Children's Health Foundation provides clothing and toiletries to patients and families in emergency need; it does not provide a wardrobe for them!  Items are provided when needs cannot be anticipated or met during a visit to the medical center, for example when a family with a premature baby is flown in from another region or a child's clothes are "cut off" in the ambulance while being treated after a trauma.  Items are provided to maintain cleanliness, normalcy, privacy and/or feelings of self worth.  This program is supported entirely by donations; there are no budgeted funds.

Metroport Meals on Wheels

For many, this is the only human contact they receive throughout the day. MMOW delivers meals to individuals who are homebound, or who are too frail to cook or shop for themselves, or who are recovering from accident or illness in addition to those who have chronic health issues.
